The forest area is located within the legendary Truong Son ecosystem, which encompasses 500,000 hectares of pristine tropical evergreen forests.
December 24, 1981, the establishment of Long Dai Industrial Forestry Union was undertaken, falling under the auspices of the Ministry of Forestry in accordance with Decree 165/HDHT issued by the Council of Ministers.
In 1996, it underwent a transition and was renamed as Long Dai Industrial Forestry Company, which was managed by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province.
The Dong Chau Forest Protection Management Board was established in Le Thuy district, separated from the Long Dai Industrial Forestry Company's protective forest area.
The Dong Chau-Khe Nuoc Trong was established under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Binh Province.
