FUNCTIONS

The Management Board of the Dong Chau – Khe Nuoc Trong Nature Reserve is responsible for managing, protecting, and developing special-use forests; conserving nature, promoting biodiversity values, genetic resources, standard ecosystem models, cultural and historical values; conducting scientific research, international cooperation, rescue and development of organisms; educating to raise environmental awareness and providing forest environmental services; developing eco-tourism in accordance with legal regulations within its delegated management scope.

TASKS

The Management Board of the Dong Chau – Khe Nuoc Trong Tourism Area carries out the duties of forest management, protection, and development according to the forestry law and related regulations, directing specialized forest protection forces to carry out duties as specified in Decree 01/2019/ND-CP, dated January 1, 2019, of the Government on Forestry Inspection and specialized forest protection forces and related regulations, specifically:

  • Manage, protect, and conserve natural ecosystems, endemic species; restore resources and natural landscape on the assigned area;
  • Develop planning, projects for the development and conservation of the Tourism Area for competent level approval, publicly announce the planning; organize implementation as per law and the assignment of tasks from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development;
  • Conduct scientific research and international cooperation;
  • Organize conservation, development of forest organisms, and rescue of wild animals;
  • Sustainably use resources, and operate services in the Tourism Area;
  • Organize the construction of programs, projects for socio-economic development for the local community;
  • Propagate, disseminate, and educate to enhance the community’s awareness of nature conservation; guide and inspect compliance with legal regulations on forest management, protection, and conservation of the Tourism Area;
  • Prepare and submit to competent authorities for appraisal, supervision, and implementation of projects related to forest management, nature conservation, biodiversity protection, environment, botanical gardens, green trees, ornamental plants, and integrated farming models as assigned by competent authorities; participate in commenting, critiquing, and appraising socio-economic development projects that are related or directly affect the Tourism Area;
  • Exercise the rights and obligations of special-use forest owners; implement statistical regimes, report on the situation of forest resources changes; results of unit operations as prescribed;
  • Perform other duties and powers as prescribed by law and as assigned by the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
